Gold prices rose on Thursday after British Brexit Minister Dominic Raab and Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Shaylesh Vara announced their resignation, which dealt a serious blow to plans for Brexit Prime Minister Theresa May.
The spot price for gold rose 0.26 percent to $ 1,210.98 per ounce, while gold futures in the United States rose by more than 1 percent to $ 1,211.60 per ounce.
The unexpected resignation of Dominic Raab followed a tense five-hour session the day before, during which the Brexit project was approved.
Earlier, President of the European Council Donald Tusk called the summit of leaders to sign the agreement on November 25 "something extraordinary."
It is interesting that gold is growing, despite the rise in the dollar in European trading, amid increasing demand for a safe haven.
While Asian stocks finished the day mixed, European markets fell amid heightened risk aversion.
