Activities in the construction sector in Ireland greatly expanded in September, but the growth rate fell to an 11-month low, the IHS Markit survey showed on Monday.
The business index in the construction sector fell to 56.2 in September from 58, 3 in August. However, a score above 50 indicates expansion in this sector.
Since September 2013, activity has been growing every month, with the last indicator becoming the weakest in the last year.
The largest increase in activity in the three broad categories covered by the survey was associated with commercial projects, the first time since June.
Commercial activity has increased dramatically, and the growth rate of activity on housing projects remained noticeable, but slowed down during the second month. Meanwhile, civil engineering has decreased moderately, the first fall in three months.
