Retail sales in Ireland recovered in July

Ireland's retail sales increased in July after falling in the previous month, as evidenced by data from the Central Statistical Bureau published on Tuesday
The volume of seasonally adjusted retail sales increased by 6.5 percent on a monthly basis in July, after a decrease of 1.5 percent in June.
Among the sectors with the largest increase in volume in the monthly calculation were electrical goods, books, newspapers and equipment.
Without taking into account automobile trade, retail sales recorded a fall of 0.5 percent.
On an annual basis, retail sales growth eased to 5.5 percent in July from 8.2 percent the previous month.
The volume of retail sales in value terms in July increased by 5.1 percent on an annualized basis and by 1.6 percent on a monthly basis.
